Information about Isabel
My name is Isabel and I recently completed an English degree at Cambridge University, Jesus College. I am moving to London soon, but while the social distancing is still enforced I can only work online anyway. I have over three years` experience tutoring students (11+, 13+, GCSE) and this year I am hoping to continue tutoring full time.
Willing to travel: 50 miles
Experience: 11+ / 13+
I have experience tutoring students in Maths and English in preparation for 11+ and 13+ entrance examinations. I have worked with students applying to top UK schools including St. Pauls, Westminster and City. I have also been ‘mentor’ to Year 7 students, with a specific focus on literary skill development. In 2016 I led a course of ‘Introductory Latin’ to primary school children.
GCSE / A-Level
I have supported students in the lead up to their English GCSE examinations, providing skill development in comprehensive skills, essay writing, text analysis and exam technique. I am also able to teach History, Maths, Classics, and Physics up to GCSE.
Adult Learning
I have experience working with adults on their essay and creative writing skills. I was College Mentor for Writing Together – a Cambridge-based programme which holds creative writing classes for inmates at HMP Whitemoor.
