Director of Learning for English and Communications. Fully qualified and experienced professional. I am currently studying for the NPQSL qualification.
I offer a fresh and enthusiastic approach to teaching. I am up to date with the new curriculum changes, national priorities and various different styles of teaching. I also tutor students to pass the QTS English tests.
I have been graded an `Outstanding` Teacher and I am also graded A - consistently outstanding exams marker for the exam board AQA. I have marked GCSE English Literature Paper Two for three years.
I have a first class BA Honours degree in Secondary English Education with Qualified Teaching Status completed at Edge Hill University.
In addition to this I have a BA Open Honours degree with the Open University, which I have completed whilst working full time.
I consider myself to be dedicated, hard working and patient. I intend to work with parents and students to create a flexible individual learning plan to allow students to reach their full potential.
Availability: I aim to offer tuition on weekday evenings and I will be as flexible as possible to suit individual learning needs.

I have also held many management positions in various restaurants, I am not new to teaching people new things in an interesting and motivating way.
I have taught in a variety of school settings including in Grimsby, Liverpool and the Isle of Man. I am currently the Director of Learning for English and Communications at a city centre Manchester school.

Laura has been teaching our 16 year old son since September 2017. We have found Laura to be extremely professional and reliable.
We wanted a tutor that would increase our Son`s confidence and help him to achieve his full potential in his GCSEs. Laura has been amazing and quickly established a really good rapport with him.
Our sons confidence has increased and in turn his English has improved immensely. His grades in school have increased over the year from achieving a grade 3/4 (D/lower C) to achieving a grade 6 (B) in class. He also became more confident in answering questions in class which he would never do before. Much to his surprise he has impressed himself as he has never been vocal in class and never contributed to discussion. In a recent English lesson in school they discussed poems and he was the only one answering the questions. He was extremely happy with himself and he has been more willing and wanting to do English where he would dread the subject before.
Laura`s teaching ability is clearly outstanding and we cannot thank her enough for how she has helped our Son.
We are sorry now that the exams are over and we won`t be seeing Laura every week as she is such a lovely person. Any student who is being taught by Laura is extremely lucky. My son`s comment is "she is the best teacher he has ever had and she is really smart."
I have no hesitation in highly recommending Laura.

The quality of teaching is excellent with essential exam tips that are required to gain the best results. Helps you to work on your weak areas and doing past papers really helped.Always fully prepared for the session and the teaching skills are remarkable.

Laura has begun her work with my son, to help prepare him for his GCSE English. It`s early days, but he is already gaining in confidence and is receiving good support to improve his skills.
