Hi, my name is Faith! I attend University College London to study Medicine and aspire to become a excellent doctor one day.

Experience: Many of my GCSE lessons follow a comprehensive structure to maximise the students learning and engagement.

I start by running through the content and explaining concepts. This is also an opportunity for any questions/discussion.

Then I provide the student with relevant worksheets/exam questions so they can apply what they have just learnt. This is followed by marking their work together. This means the student is able to recognise themselves what they need to spend more time on.

Finally, me and the student do a proven method called ‘active recall’. This is when I prompt them with different questions which cover the content they are required to memorise. This is essential as it tests their memory and is the key step in learning. It also allows us to see which parts they find harder or more difficult to remember. It also means that as a tutor I can see which concepts to go over again and explain in a easier way to understand.

Of course all students are unique so I adjust my lessons accordingly to ensure different learning styles are being addressed. I also always encourage the student to give me feedback or mention when they are finding stuff difficult.
I am eager to help with any homework, past papers, tutorials and exam technique! Anything you need, I believe that nobody should have to struggle and want to share the knowledge and methods that earned me A*AA in my Biology, Maths and Chemistry A levels and all 8s and 9s in my GCSEs
This is why I encourage any and all questions, however silly you may feel they are. I never judge, and feel they are the best way to learn.
I want my students to feel confident in their learning environment.
I believe the key to reaching those top grades is that a student must understand the work as opposed to memorising information and therefore work to asses understanding and build on this information in lessons to come.

I am also a firm believer in trying new teaching methods. If you feel that the reason you don`t understand the work is because you are being taught the same thing in the same way and no one is able to approach the topic from another perspective then I believe I can help.
