Rufus

Hi, I`m Rufus, a graduate from Oxford University, where I studied Geography. Previously I attended Westminster School, where I was an academic exhibitioner. I am currently training to be a solicitor, and have been tutoring full time alongside this for the last two years.

I do not follow a didactic approach to teaching; I believe the best way to bring out a pupil`s potential is to build their confidence, and find pupils benefit from, and enjoy more, interactive lessons that revolve around an easy dialogue between pupil and tutor. I will generally work through past paper questions with pupils, often asking them to prepare work in advance for the tutorials, and hope that my in depth knowledge of the marking criteria will allow pupils to tailor their style of work to the particular qualifications they are sitting.

Availability: Available the entire 2018-19 academic year and beyond.

Experience: I have tutored several pupils at 8+, 11+ and 13+ levels, helping them to make successful applications to schools such as Eton, Westminster, St Paul`s and NLCS. I have also tutored extensively at GCSE level, helping pupils across the Sciences, Geography, English and Maths to significantly improve on their predicted grades.

I do a significant amount of pre-university work, helping to review personal statements and prepare candidates ahead of interviews and applications to Oxford and Cambridge.
