I am a qualified and experienced secondary English teacher and GCSE examiner, currently teaching at an Ofsted rated `Outstanding` North London Academy. In addition to being a Head of Year, I have experience as a Key Stage 4 English Coordinator. Originally from York, I spent some of my childhood in Beirut. I graduated from Durham University with a BA in English Literature and began the Teach First Leadership Development Programme. I completed my MA in Educational Leadership at UCL and am currently completing UCL`s National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-Ordination.

Availability: Haringey area: weeknights from 6pm.
Weekends - dependent upon request.

Experience: I completed my BA in English Literature at Hatfield College, Durham University. I then completed my PGCE (Secondary English) at Canterbury Christ Church University and my MA in Educational Leadership at UCL, Institute of Education, earning a distinction in both. I am currently completing my National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination at UCL.

Having completed Teach First’s Leadership Development Programme, ;I now teach English across the ability and age range at an outstanding North London academy and try to share my enthusiasm for my subject with each student whilst employing a range of pedagogies to maximise attainment. I strive for equity in my classroom and am a proponent of inclusive practice. As well as improving exam outcomes for high attainers, I have developed strategies to work with dyslexic, autistic and early stage EAL learners, as well as those with speech, language and communication needs.

In addition to my teaching experience, I have 5 years tutoring experience and have supported students with admission to some of the most competitive day, boarding and grammar schools as well as universities. In addition, I have examined for AQA’s GCSE English Literature qualification and use this insight to enhance my teaching. I have also taught weekend and half-term booster courses for 7+, 11+, 13+ and GCSE students
