Information about Emily
I am a qualified and experienced Primary School Teacher with nine years experience as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator. I have taught children from the ages of 4 to 12 years across various mainstream primary schools in England, and an International Preparatory School in Portugal.
I tutor online and in the town of Bourne, Lincolnshire, and the surrounding areas.
I aim to make all sessions engaging and fun by applying a variety of learning styles to suit children’s needs, e.g. visual, practical, interactive, etc. By tailoring sessions individually, I take into account children’s needs and personality therefore supporting children with subjects/concepts they are struggling with, helping pupils reach their full potential and boosting children’s confidence. Tuition can also be offered to support children with dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties. I aim to provide a positive learning environment, where children can be comfortable and relaxed and enjoy learning.
Availability: I am available Mondays-Fridays throughout the day and evening (including all school holidays) for both online and in person face to face lessons at my home address. Currently, I only offer online tuition until we have more clarity over the pandemic situation.

Experience: I am a qualified and experienced Primary School Teacher with nine years experience as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator. I have taught whole classes of 35 children, small groups and one-to-one sessions across the primary school age range.
In addition to Special Educational Needs, I also have a wealth of knowledge and experience in English as an Additional Language, and Maths.
I offer Eleven Plus, Twelve Plus, English and Maths tutoring to Primary School children including:
- Phonics
- Reading
- Spelling, punctuation, grammar
- Maths
- Exam/test preparations: Phonics Screen Check, KS1 and KS2 SATS, Eleven Plus, etc.

My daughter has recently started preparing for the eleven plus exam. I did not know where to start but Mrs Emily made everything easier. She has a wonderful gift with children and connected with my daughter immediately. The progress has been excellent and my daughter’s confidence and ability have increased thanks to Mrs Emily’s excellent tutoring.

The entire journey with Emily, from initial contact, through to weekly engagement, has been fantastic! She has a natural, unique and endearing personality and has developed my daughter’s confidence in such a short space of time. Emily is intuitive in her delivery and meets any request with enthusiasm and interest; she also provides helpful and encouraging feedback at the end of each session, which is incredibly useful. My daughter often struggles to engage with learning, particularly since the effects of Covid lockdowns, but Emily has a charming way to keep her excited, to the extent my child really looks forward to each session.
