Research Tutor - Excel, SPSS, design & statistical analysis - For students, PhD researchers & businesses

Hi, my name is Nathan. I provide a friendly, professional and flexible service as a research tutor and freelance researcher.

I can provide tutoring and advice on research design and analysis.
This includes the use of qualitative and quantitative methods, as well as software such as SPSS, R-Studio, NVivo and Qualtrics.

My background is in social research, and I have taught statistics at university level.

I help students, researchers and businesses to use the right research methods, to conduct analysis and to present their data in the best way.

My skills include advanced use of Excel and SPSS software, as well as all aspects of research design. I can give one-to-one or group lessons on the following topics:

Microsoft Excel – Organise your data, use formulae, audit-trail your work, carry out quality checking, produce graphs & charts, build a workbook that automatically updates as you input or change data

SPSS – Organise your data, define and understand variables, input data, use a range of analytic techniques, understand results and produce useful outputs such as graphs, charts or tables, use SPSS syntax to perform complex analysis

Research design & analysis - Choose the correct analysis for your research, design your research, understand how to show impact, understand significance levels and effect sizes, use correlation and analysis of variance

Data dashboards & Visual basic - Make interactive tools for Excel & web applications, develop user-friendly data input forms and interactive dashboards for presenting & exploring data

Survey methods - Design high-quality questionnaires, surveys and user forms to get the data you need, use online tools to recruit participants quickly and cheaply, encode and input survey data

Qualitative methods - Develop interview scri pts, record field notes, transcribe interviews, encode written information, find patterns in speech and language using qualitative methods

Literature searching – Search databases, journals and archives, find useful data in the public domain, find relevant literature and references for your research or proposal writing, use a structured method for exploring the information available

Availability: I am available to teach in London, or online via Skype. I can travel easily withing zones 1-2.

I am flexible with timing, but prefer Monday-Friday, 9am to 7pm.
