Information about Hannah

I am a fully qualified teacher based around the Shepperton/Weybridge area. I have a first class degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Coprus Christi College Oxford. I have been teaching since graduating and it is both my passion and my vocation. I have recently obtained a Master`s degree in Education from the University of Exeter,

I believe that students highly benefit from a mastery approach when it comes to the basics of Mathematics. Developing confidence is the key to sucess at all levels, and opens doors to more complex problems. I believe in a supported approach to problem solving, wherein students are given the opportunity to experiement and make mistakes while being given guidance and reassurance. I enjoy challenging the very most able students with problems from the UKMT maths challenges to broaden their thinking.

Experience: From 2015-2016 I taught in a mixed comprehensive in Birmingham, ages 11-16, where I taught the entire range of abilities. Since then, I have been teaching at one of the top independent schools in the local area, and have had great sucess.

I have experience teaching both GCSE and IGCSE Mathematics to a range of abilities, as well as AQA Certificate Further Mathematics. I have also taught A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics, as well as having experience with the MAT and STEP. I have worked with students keen to excel in the UKMT papers, and have run Maths extensions groups at school.

For my Master`s degree, I wrote my dissertation was on the impact of dyslexia in Mathematics. As such I fully understand the challenges facing a student with dyslexia in Mathematics, but also have significant experience and understanding of students with dyspraxia, autism and ADHD.

We were lucky to contact Mrs. Hannah to teach my daughter who has just started in Year 12.

Mrs. Hannah has taught my daughter for nearly a month and its too early for me to comment on her teaching and how it has impacted my daughters approach towards the subject. All in all she is very good, friendly, punctual and communicates promptly.

My daughter started with a Hannah to aid and prepare for GCSEs. Hannah is a very good tutor, enthusiastic, knowledgable on the exam syllabus. Assessed my daughters ability and what she wanted to achieve and then prepared for each lesson and set homework tasks. Hannah is great at communicating, explaining and encouraging. Hannah travelled to our home which was really convenient. Would and have highly recommended her.
