Mathematics undergraduate with strong communication skills seeking a tutoring role for GCSE or A-level maths students, including further maths. I am going into my third year at the university of Warwick studying mathematics, currently achieving a first. I have had experience both tutoring privately and assisting in the teaching of first year maths classes at the university. This combination demonstrates I can understand and communicate maths in a teaching role effectively to students. This experience also has inspired a keen interest in teaching and helping students who need it.

Experience: Teaching assistant for first year maths students at the University of Warwick during 10 weeks from October to December in 2019.
The class consisted of 25 students attempting questions on the first-year content, with a main teacher and one other assistant like myself. My role was to be available for questions and to assist the students. In this respect I helped facilitate understanding and guide pupils towards being able to work out the answer themselves. Regarding this I also feel my experience helped me develop my skills at helping teach maths specifically, by impressing upon the students understanding of the subject, rather than simple regurgitation of course material. I also developed the ability to communicate this teaching to small 5 or 6 sized groups effectively. The skills learnt in this experience are directly applicable to tutoring.
