I specialise in supporting students who need a different approach to learning.

Hi, I`m Sarah — a qualified teacher with over 20 years of experience supporting students in English and Maths.

Many of the young people I work with are bright, capable, and curious — but struggling within traditional classroom environments. Some have lost confidence. Some feel overwhelmed by school. Some have additional needs, including SEND. What they all have in common is that they haven`t yet found the right conditions to learn.

When students feel safe and understood, real learning can begin.

My tutoring focuses on rebuilding confidence alongside skills — in English and Maths from Key Stage 1 through to GCSE, including Functional Skills. I work with students at all levels, including those working below expected levels or educated outside mainstream settings.

Outside of teaching, I`m a parent to two children and two step-children, and our home is usually bustling with a variety of furry and reptilian pets.

Experience: I have been a qualified teacher since 2003 and have been tutoring successfully since 2006 — initially alongside my teaching career, and full-time since the birth of my first son. Over that time, I have steadily grown my practice, and I now work with students across a range of settings: one-to-one home tuition, flexischool arrangements, and evening sessions for mainstream pupils.

I work with both mainstream and additional needs students, including those with ASD, ADHD, PDA, dyslexia, and dyscalculia. Supporting children with additional needs isn`t just my professional specialism — it`s personal. Both of my own children have SEND, and that experience shapes everything about how I work.
