Information about Francis
I have a undergraduate degree from Oxford and an MA from SOAS, University of London. In addition to tutoring, I run a social enterprise delivering academic enrichment seminars to 6th form students. I have also run seminars specifically for A-level English Literature students. My academic interests are broad and interdisiplinary, but focus on literature, politics and philosophy. I enjoy playing music (the piano and the trombone) and sport, as well as reading, writing and travelling.
My ambition as a tutor is to help students to develop the tools necessary for success in public examinations and, at the same time, to enhance their enjoyment of the subject. I define success broadly, as the achievement of the best grade of which that student is capable, and enjoying the journey to its attainment. Doing well is, in my view, intrinsically tied to enjoyment of the subject exam success requires energy and enthusiasm, and I will help students to approach their subject in this manner. Students aiming for the highest grades need creativity and confidence in order to develop and express good arguments. Nurturing these qualities requires exposure to a wide range of challenging material and well-gauged encouragement.

Didnt quite fulfil what I was looking for.
Tutors Response :
I only had one session with Tilly, very shortly before her A level English Literature exams. Due to a misunderstanding/miscommunication, the session didn`t focus on exactly the content she required, and so wasn`t as helpful as she had hoped.
