Information about Todd
Current Head of Philosophy, Theology and Ethics at one of the country`s highest achieving state grammar schools in Cheltenham. Prior to this I taught in a number of comprehensive schools within the county.
I have a genuine love for my subject and I`m a passionate educator of young people. My approach to tutoring is flexible and tailored to the individual tutee. As a practising teacher and department head my experience in education, my subject and its exam, importantly, informs my tutoring.
I have experience offering a range of different support from weekly sessions throughout the year to intensive revision and preparation in the run up to exams. You may also wish to focus on key areas of study such as subject content, essay writing skills or exam preparation. I happily review completed work and provide detailed feedback.
Availability: I tend to discuss this on an individual basis. I have a young family and fit my tutoring around this and my full-time employment. Evening sessions will fall between 16.30 and 19.00. In some cases I offer weekend sessions and these are decided on a case-by-case basis.
I am happy to travel around Gloucester and Cheltenham and also to tutor in my home if you wish to travel to me - hot drinks are included!
I am also experienced teaching and tutoring online.

Experience: I have taught for a number of years now, training in 2011. In that time I have taught a number of different GCSE and A-Level specifications.
I currently teach the new AQA GCSE and new OCR A-Level Religious Studies qualifications though have previously taught other boards. I am more than able and willing to tutor any qualification.

Todd has been great, our son is Autistic and Todd has very quickly managed to gain his trust and establish a relationship, as well as being a fabulous teacher. Highly recommended.

Todd is simply THE best private tutor we had ever experinced! We had hiccups with finding a good tutor to help our son`s RE GCSE revision. When we asked him the second time to help with the revision, Todd kindly agreed though he was still very busy. By then there was only one week and a half left before the exam and they only could squeeze four lessons into this short period of time. Todd was very knowledgeable about all the topics and knew the exam specification inside out. His explanation was clear and in depth, the homework after lessons was well-designed, focused and enhancing, homework marking and question answering were responded through emails rapidly and in detail. He generously lent our son his own books. After only four lessons, plus intensive homework throughout this one week and a half, our son became a total new person - fully equipped with knowledge, confident, empowered with tips for exam and time management - he could not wait to go to the exam! Now he is relaxed and expecting a satisfactory exam result! Todd was sympathetic to the rather urgent situation. He never delayed or postponed any lessons for any reason. He responded any inquiries swiftly even in late nights and weekends. He marked the homework at his own time and turned down our offer of payments for the time spent. We can`t thank Todd enough for what he did for our son and would full-heartedly recommend him to anyone who need a pair of most capable and kind helping hands! Lily and Bill
