Brought up in a small coastal village in Norfolk, I had an idyllic childhood full of adventure, fresh air and books. I moved away from Norfolk in 1981 to attend the University of Warwick and then City University in London. I then spent a number of years working within the arts as an administrative director or marketing officer or press officer for the government. I later returned to university (Leicester) to read for an M.A. in Victorian Studies. This included Literature, History and History of Art. I returned to Norfolk in 2008 to care for my elderly mother. I love the big skies and (some might say) bleak landscape as it encourages me in my own writing and art. I`m passionate about all aspects of English and believe that my enthusiasm is infectious. I have been an AQA examiner for some time and know what exam boards want. I am conversant with OCR and WJEC boards as well. When working as a supply teacher I taught English, History and Geography (the latter two at KS3).

Experience: Following a PGCE in 2000 (Leicester University), I began my teaching career in Lincoln. I returned to Norfolk in 2008 and taught at my old high school for several years before embarking on supply teaching and private tuition. I have taught English at Key Stage 3 through to A Level (KS5) as well as Drama (KS3) and Psychology (KS5). I have been an acting Head of Department in English and a full HoD in Psychology. As a supply teacher, I have been called on to teach Geography and History at KS3. As a private tutor I have supported Primary students in preparing for KS2 SATs, 11+ and Common Entrance (with a 99% success rate). I also coach students in English (and Literature) at GCSE and A level. I have also helped with revision for GCSE Geography and History. I have been an A level examiner in English Language and English Literature (for the OCR and AQA exam boards) and am a GCSE examiner for English Language (with AQA).
