Information about Lizzie
I am a recent graduate of Cardiff University where I studied English Literature. I also studied Classics (Latin and Ancient Greek) at Universite Lumiere Lyon II, during which time I became fluent in French. Theatre and the Arts are a huge passion of mine and in my spare time I take part in many amateur dramatic performances around Cardiff. I enjoy a range of sports, running and reading as well.
I feel that tutoring is an effective method of teaching as it allows for the one-to-one attention that sometimes cannot be possible in the classroom environment. As with any language, practice must be "a little and often" and the tutoring experience must put a great deal of emphasis on speaking and listening during lessons and using homework time for reading and writing work. Pronunciation and intonation are key elements to understanding the target language and being understood and so are a focal point during lessons. All lessons are conducted in the target language to allow for complete immersion in the language, thereby aiding learning. The background, culture and mannerisms of the target language`s country are a fantastic talking point and so the lessons can be themed and the lessons graded on the pupil`s ability. I welcome all abilities and am confident that after a few lessons the pupil`s level will most definitely improve if they apply themselves to the full extent!

Experience: Whilst studying, I tutored children and teenagers French and Latin part-time. I gained a CELTA qualification for teaching English as a Foreign Language in 2012 and I have since been teaching in Language Summer Schools across the UK. I have experience teaching children, teenagers and adults in all areas of grammar and lexis, drilling pronunciation and spelling, checking intonation and tone, marking and grading exams as well as preparing pupils for recognised exams such as TRINITY.
