Information about Tony
Experienced tutor creates an appetite for learning
I offer tutoring in Core Subjects - Mathematics, Science and English - from 11+ to GCSE with Mathematics and Science at A & AS levels. Recently I have begun to tutor on line. Please ask me for more details.
At higher levels l support STEP and similar exams, transition to university (harder than it looks and a start up boost can be valuable), dissertation or thesis writing, SPSS and questionnaire management. Recently I have been working with adults improving their mathematics skills and the use of spreadsheets and databases. I have considerable experience in web site design and/or construction.
I am an approachable, friendly teacher. I often use humour to approach topics which pupils find challenging. My pupils achieve success.
During 2012/2015 I have tutored private and pro bono pupils from 10 to 45 years of age in UK and abroad in their homes, their holiday locations and their schools. Pupils have entered Charterhouse, Wycombe Abbey, Sevenoaks, Trinity and City of London Girls schools and won prizes. One pupil achieved 4A* and an A at A and another achieved 10A* at GCSE in 2014. An Eastern European adult won one of three places on a London Business School MBA course from a field of 43.
I use a clinical approach. I am tutoring an individual not teaching a class so I can tailor my approach to their specific requirements.
