Information about Stephanie

Hi, I’m Steph!
I’ve been living in London for the past 11 years. I originally came as a French language assistant to improve my English, with the goal of becoming an English teacher back in France. But after just a few months, I fell in love with London and decided to stay and pursue my teaching career here.

After completing my PGCE, I began working in a secondary school in South East London, where I taught French and Spanish for 7 years. Alongside my school role, I’ve also been tutoring privately, helping GCSE students prepare for their exams, as well as supporting adults who want to improve their fluency and confidence in French or Spanish.

Whether you`re looking for structured academic support or want to practise conversational skills, I tailor my lessons to meet your needs in a fun and approachable way.

Availability: I recently made a career change and now work at a climbing centre. This new role gives me more flexibility, but it also means my schedule can vary depending on my rota, which I receive three weeks in advance. Because of this, I offer flexible tutoring times and will always do my best to find slots that work for both of us.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I hold a degree from a French university in English Linguistics, Culture, and Civilization, and I’m a fully qualified MFL teacher (PGCE – French and Spanish). I’ve taught in a London secondary school for 7 years, delivering engaging and effective lessons to students of varying levels and backgrounds.

Languages have always been a passion of mine, but two years ago, I decided to step away from classroom teaching to focus on my other great passion: climbing. I now work as a climbing instructor, but I’m not ready to leave language teaching behind entirely. Tutoring allows me to stay connected to what I love about teaching: helping others grow in confidence, skill, and enthusiasm.
