I am an enthusiastic, qualified primary school teacher, with 11 years’ experience in schools. I have experience of teaching and working with children between the ages of 5 to 11. More recently I have been tutoring children at home and love to see children enjoy their learning and to watch them grow in confidence.
I tutor for the 11+ and across all the subjects at primary level particularly English (reading , writing, grammar) maths and I specialise in phonics.
Most children will benefit from one to one teaching sessions which unfortunately, are increasingly missing in the classroom setting.
My individual tutoring sessions are normally from my home; however I can travel to your home if needed. My sessions are one to one, and I provide all the resources required. Lessons are available after school, in the evenings and at the weekend.
Each Lesson is tailored to your individual child’s needs. I aim to make each lesson stimulating and fun and practical. I monitor each child’s progress and feedback to the parents after each session.
My Aim is to increase your child’s confidence, and support them in their learning.
11+
I also provide tutoring for the 11+ Exam. Children wanting to commence a grammar school in Year 7 will have to sit the 11+ test in the Autumn before. These tests are assessing children’s Verbal and Non Verbal reasoning skills and are very different in format to tests done in school. Individual tutoring allows children to benefit from being able to familiarise themselves with the format of the tests, practice new skills and build speed and confidence.

Availability: I am available after school, evenings, at weekends and during school holidays.
