Information about Lee
Whether you need help in reaching your potential for examinations (GCSE/A-Level), want to learn for fun, holidays or business I can help you take that next step. I believe fun, enjoyment and confidence are the key elements of learning. It is imperative to teach in a variety of ways and establish the best learning style for each individual pupil exploring Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic methods of learning. By `doing` a learner learns and remembers.
Helping students overcome barriers to learning and making progress are the things I enjoy the most about teaching. I am genuinely passionate about my subjects and in seeing learners reach their potential. I too enjoy the challenge of mastering new things and embracing the notion that you never ever stop learning.
A bit more about me: I am a teacher of 25 years, I mix traditional and modern methods of learning to ensure pupils realise their potential. I am 46, married and a proud father of two lovely daughters, I appreciate how important it is to get decisions on education right. I enjoy keeping fit and have recently discovered running and the sense of achievement and pride one can get from it. I am an approachable person who enjoys the company of family and friends. I like to visit new places and try to make the most of what comes my way.
Availability: Some evenings and possibly weekends
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: My name is Lee and I am a qualified Spanish teacher with 25 years teaching experience having worked in both state and independent schools and primary and secondary settings. My teaching of languages began when I became a language assistant in Spain which formed part of my university degree course. My initial training as a language teacher has helped me to garner the approach to learning a language- `Hear it, say it, see it, write it. Teaching those key four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing not only helps to cement learning in the `communicative` methodology but helps build confidence in the language. I use those same traditional methods but have learned to blend them with interactive online teaching and learning.
My academic qualifications are: BA (Hons) 2:1 Spanish (Leeds), PGCE MFL (Manchester) NASEN (Birmingham).
DBS Check: Yes

Lee has worked well with Zach, focusing in on different areas of English, giving him a handy tips and a pneumonic to remember how to write better paragraphs. He switches in some Maths revision to ensure that Zach remains engaged through out the lessons.
