Information about Hannah

I am a fully qualified Secondary English teacher with 4 years experience working in a variety of schools. I am very passionate about my subject and to education.
I`ve taught in schools across London as well as worked as a tutor for children aged 6-18.
As well as an English teacher, I also work as a workshop facilitator and actor. This experience enables me to keep learning interactive, fun and engaging.
I strive to help all my students find enjoyment and success in their learning.

Availability: I am currently free all evenings and weekends and school holidays. I am also currently available on Wednesdays and Thursdays during the day.

Willing to travel: 8 miles

Experience: I have been an English teacher for four years and have been tutoring for more than double that. I’ve worked with children from ages 8-18 with varying abilities; from helping dyslexic children gain more confidence in their reading and writing, to teaching A-Level and IB students how to improve their essay writing skills.
In addition to teaching and tutoring, in 2018 I became an AQA examination marker for the English GCSE. This has given me an excellent insight into what is expected of students in the exam and what the examiners are looking for and I can pass this on to my own students.
I have an excellent track record with helping students gain high exam results and encouraging students to continue studying English at A-Level and University.
I became a tutor because I understand that it can be difficult for all students’ needs to be met in a busy classroom setting and that it can be very difficult for teachers to give students the one-on-one time they may need to help them thrive. When I work with students in tutoring sessions, I am giving them time to ask questions and gain clarity on what they are doing in class as well enabling them to develop their skills and knowledge further so that they can excel.
My teaching style is very student focused- I want to ensure that the work we do together is specifically tailored to the student’s needs and what they feel would be helpful for them. I make sure that our sessions are not just a continuation of school but more personal and fun. My main aim in my tutoring sessions is to give my students a greater confidence with and enjoyment of their subjects.
