I have a genuine passion for tutoring and mentoring students to enable them to reach their potential. I am looking to guide and support students to help them build their confidence in mathematics and/or pursue their curiosity.

I will tailor my lessons to each student’s preference and needs. Typically, there will be a focus on the curriculum and consolidating material learnt at school. This will be supplemented with problem solving style questions, such as maths challenge and open-ended questioning, as I believe this is a valuable skill in addition to fundamental mathematics knowledge. Where possible, I will aim to show real-life examples to show the relevance of content learned. I encourage students to ask questions and challenge their thinking.

A bit about myself:

I am 29 years old currently working as a Pricing Analyst in the Insurance industry. I also have experience working as an Actuarial Analyst in the industry. In both roles, I have applied statistical and mathematical tools to analyse data.

I graduated from the University of Warwick with a First Class in MMORSE (Master of Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics) in 2017. More recently in 2022, I achieved QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership in Learning from Birmingham City University whilst working as a Secondary School Mathematics Teacher.

I want to demonstrate to students that knowledge of Mathematics can provide a wide range of academic and career opportunities. With hard work, determination and patience, these opportunities are available to all.

Teaching: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership in Learning from Birmingham City University
Degree: First Class Honours in MMORSE (Master of Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics) from the University of Warwick
A-level: 3 A* (Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics) and an A (Economics) studying at Finchley Catholic High School Sixth Form
GCSE: 11 A* and an A in addition to an A in FSMQ Additional Mathematics studying at Finchley Catholic High School

I am available for in person tutoring after 5:30pm on Mondays and Fridays. If this time does not work, I may be able to accommodate weekend tutoring.

If you’re interested in tuition for yourself or for your child, feel free to get in touch so we can discuss your needs and assess each other’s suitability. When submitting a tutoring request, it would be very helpful if you could include, if applicable, the following:

- the reason for needing a tutor and what you expect to get from tuition
- the topics you would like to cover
- a preferred start date
- a preferred day and time
- the number of hours per week that you require tuition
- any additional information

This will allow me to respond immediately on first contact.

I always insist on the first hour being free. This hour is key for the student to assess the tutor’s suitability and for me to decide whether I can meet a student’s expectation.

Experience: I have been tutoring on off since 2017. I have tutored a range of students of all ages and ability. Some students require additional support to that received at school/university to consolidate difficult concepts, others need someone to support the learning of new topics to push beyond the school syllabus or for personal development/curiosity. Every student gives me an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s education.

I am also a qualified teacher and worked at a Secondary School in Tamworth for 1 and half years until the beginning of 2023. I see education as a highly rewarding field and profession; I want to share my knowledge and experience to help the next generation succeed.
