I principally tutor online but will tutor face to face if quite local.

I prepare and provide an appropriate curriculum for your child, especially if a `catch-up` in understanding is needed.

I am a Teacher, Tutor and Educational Consultant based in the Skelmersdale area but at the moment I am enjoying being a one-to-one Tutor.

I am married and have two children.
I enjoy being involved in the local community through governance and charities.

I have been a qualified teacher for over 29 years. This has been as a Class Teacher, Deputy Headteacher and then a Headteacher.

I find one-to-one tuition a great opportunity to quickly develop a child`s interest and learning. I focus lessons on the child`s needs and interests.

I have tutored children from reception age up to year 13 and occasionally adults.
I specialise in teaching very young children to read for the first time, working with SEN children and also supporting older pupils in maths at GCSE and A level.
I also have a lot of experience in supporting children through their 11+ and 12+ entrance examinations.

Availability: I have availability at 5.30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays.
As I am a fulltime Tutor I can tutor during the day, so this would be suitable for A level maths students who have study-time or home-schooled pupils.

I feel it is very important to make all my lessons as fun and as interesting as possible for my pupils. I have a particular strength in supporting children who has `fallen behind` in their school work.

I have worked with children from 4 years of age to adults. Most of my recent experience has been in A level maths and GCSE maths, although I also spend a lot of time tutoring EYFS, and preparing pupils for KS2 SATs and 11+ exams.
I particularly enjoy teaching maths at A Level, preparing pupils for further study in maths at university level as well.

As a full-time tutor I am able to tutor during the day, when your child may have study leave.
I generally tutor online.
