I offer GCSE Maths and Years 7, 8 and 9 Maths tuition at your home.
I am a Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng) with a BEng Honours Degree in Civil Engineering from Imperial College, University of London. I worked in the civil engineering consultancy business for approximately 15 years and a significant proportion of my degree course and my working life involved mathematics and its practical application. In my working life as a Senior Civil Engineer, much of my time was spent mentoring and training junior engineers and technicians in the technical aspects of engineering.
I firmly believe that getting a firm foundation in maths prior to taking the GCSE exam is vital as a good maths GCSE qualification is a prerequisite for most jobs.
I also believe that developing the student`s confidence is key as that is always a part of the battle!
Availability: Mondays and Wednesdays after school, term time only (not school holidays or bank holidays)
Weekdays during school hours for mature/college students.
Willing to travel: 5 miles

It has been very rewarding to see each student`s confidence and knowledge develop. Feedback from parents of all my students has been very positive. In all cases each student`s school teacher has noticed the improvement and in some cases the school has raised the student`s predicted GCSE exam grade.
I can see, sometimes in the space of just a few sessions, how my work with each student helps to improve their understanding of the Maths GCSE specification.
