Information about Christine
I`m fortunate to be able to say that not only do I love children but that I also love teaching and establish excellent working relationships with all my pupils.
I carry out N.F.E.R. initial assessments in Reading, Maths, English, Spelling, Handwriting, Reasoning and sometimes Cognitive Ability, which is written up in a detailed full report for a one-off fee. I include some short art/craft activities where possible to develop dexterity and interest, as well as supporting Science if necessary. I work with young people between the ages of 7-14yrs of age and live in Braintree.
Availability: Entirely flexible, days, evenings, weekends, holidays, working around what`s required.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have over 25 years of classroom teaching experience at Primary level and have tutored for all abilities with Special Needs (former SENCO), Gifted and Talented pupils and 11+ tuition for over 20yrs. I`m also musical and have taught the piano, guitar and recorders although I teach people to PLAY rather than take exams!

We first contacted Chris to undertake a two hour assessment of our granddaughter to establish her current academic level in order to make a decision of whether to put her in for the 11+ or not. We didn`t want to put our granddaughter under unnecessary pressure if she was going to struggle. Chris was able to give a complete and thorough professional assessment based on tests that our granddaughter undertook and confirmed that she was an ideal candidate to be tutored.
Chris has been tutoring our 9 year old granddaughter for the 11+ for a few weeks now and has developed a good relationship with her. She continues to assess and move forward every week showing a marked progression (although this is very early days) Chris not only tutors for the allocated hour, but also marks the previous weeks work during her own time and creates a lesson plan for the coming visit in her own time. there are a number of workbooks that my granddaughter works on throughout the week and the cost of these are reimbursed from time to time.

I can highly recommend Christine as a tutor. She has been great with my 9 year old daughter Amelia, who is really enjoying her sessions and always comes out smiling.
Christine is very organised and has done a great job at making Amelia feel relaxed and engaged in the sessions.
