Information about Hasina
I am a Design and Technology Teacher currently teaching Design and Technology at George Greens School based in East London - Tower Hamlets. I am currently teaching students in Year 7 - 11 and I pride myself in introducing exciting creative projects that inspire and enthuse all my pupils. I am currently teaching KS4 Textiles and have two Year 11 classes - Food Tech and Designing the Built Environment (Architecture). In KS3 I teach Food Tech, Resistant Materials, Art and Textiles which shows that I have extensive knowledge in the Design & Tech curriculum. I have also created classroom environments that all students work towards their maximum creative potential.
Last year, during my NQT year, I took in the responsibility of writing schemes of learning for Textiles and creating all resources for this. I have helped develop an exciting curriculum for KS3 and KS4 and this has been done in line with the national curriculum (using scaffolding to draw on prior knowledge - KS2 to KS4). I created this for Year 7 Textiles, Year 8 Textiles, Year 9 Textiles and Year 11 Textiles.
I have a track record of outstanding results for students in Year 11. Last academic year all my students achieved their target/FFT grade and surpassed this 100% pass rate (Pass+ 100%, Merit+ 87.5%, Distinction+ 31.3%, Distinction* 12.5%). All students completed 4 units of work in one year which is usually spread out over two years. To support them I set regular targeted interventions for them - Easter sessions, half term sessions, Saturday sessions, after school sessions and lunch interventions. I gave regular and constant feedback so students could continually improve their work in order to achieve higher grades.
My previous experience consists of working for many designers such as Christopher Raeburn and then as an Embroiderer for Hawthorne & Heaney. This has proved invaluable in being able to work in two and three dimensions and approach design projects with originality.
Availability: I am available weekends - Saturday and Sunday. I am also willing to negotiate a weekdays after school depending on the needs of the student.
Summer holidays: available everyday Monday- Sunday if told in advance.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I graduated from London College of Fashion with a First Class Degree in Fashion Textiles Embroidery.
I also completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Education - Secondary School Design & Technology at Goldsmiths University. I left graded as Outstanding for my teaching and learning.
Before qualifying to teach I worked as an Embroiderer for Hawthorne & Heaney which enabled me to work with many London Fashion Week designers and had the opportunity to create embroidery for the Met Gala. I was also the coordinator for the London Embroidery School leading sessions in hand embroidery, digital embroidery and organised specialist 1-2-1 and group classes.
My experience before this is as a Floor Manager and I managed a team of 60 people in a store that turned over 18 million per year.

I have no doubt to say Hasina is an excellent teacher. She is teaching my daughter GCSE Art. My daughter feels very comfortable with her and her teaching skills are marvellous. I would definitely recommend her to other parents. Ravind
