Information about Jennifer

Hi. My name is Jennifer. I am a Newly Qualified teacher with a BA (HONS) Early Years Education with QTS degree from Northumbria University. I have had lots of experience in a variety of different schools through my degree. I am a very enthusiastic teacher who always tries to make my lessons engaging for the individual child so they will then engage in the material and therefore learn more. My specalism is mathematics. I always try to make my lessons fun and interesting for the children so they get the most out of the lesson. I am willing to do Maths and English tutoring sessions.

Availability: I am available every day after 5pm. Thursday and Fridays I am available from 3pm.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: Knowing your children in the classroom is vital as you can help motivate them and improve their learning. Children always enjoy an exciting hook, I use these to engage the children in their learning. The hooks I use are simple letters or a package they would get to open. This would get the children excited, and you instantly have their attention.

I have always had good attendance and motivation during my university course and placements this proves that I am reliable, hardworking and committed. Which helps to show that I can establish and maintain a purposeful working atmosphere because I set all these expectations on myself, so this will help encourage the children. Young children usually work off how you are with them, so you need to show your enthusiasm for the subjects and how you want them to behave. When I have gone into placements, I have ensured that I have always kept a positive learning environment for the children, so they feel comfortable and will respond to me in the way I want them to. I am reliable because I turn up before I need to be there, so I can help set up the class for the lesson. I also helped make display boards and photocopying. I have enjoyed working with a variety of different children with different ability; this has helped me develop my knowledge and understanding of a working school environment. I have also learned how to make the subject more interesting by making games to keep the children interested in the subject or rewarding them when they do something useful to help encourage them and keep them engaged. All this experience has helped make a stimulating and safe learning environment as the children feel confident and secure to come to me and express how they are feeling.
