An enthusiastic English teacher with a passion for fostering a love of learning and making every student feel successful.

I am still working as a full time English teacher in a secondary school. Having produced successful GCSE results for the past 10 years (and being very passionate about education) I am looking to share my teaching through online tuition.

Still working successfully within the secondary setting I am only looking to tutor across KS3 and KS4. I want to ensure I have the time to provide the best planning, resources and feedback for the pupils both in my classroom and now my online students. Being trained in teaching English at secondary school level and working in this environment everyday I can offer, with confidence, an outstanding experience that will lead to student progress.

Availability: I still work a full teaching week in a school and can offer online 1:1 sessions for the time slots below.

Experience: Classroom teacher with 10 years experience teaching GCSE and several years examining for AQA Language Paper 1 and 2.

KS4
* currently teaching year a year 11 and 10 class at KS4 (alongside three KS3 classes)
* I have current and up to date knowledge of teaching and learning across all of the secondary school year groups
* I am frequently part of school and department CPD
* all lessons, resources and teaching is relevant, researched and current
* I can deliver sessions to improving writing for purpose
* I can deliver sessions to improve comprehension and inference
* will assess students work in the initial sessions and create bespoke lessons to enhance their skills

KS3
* developing pupils reading, comprehension and inferences skills
* helping pupils to understand how to form an opinion from an extract, novel, play etc
* helping pupils begin to understand how to structure and organise their ideas and express them with accuracy
* helping pupils to develop their use of paragraphing, sentences structure and grammar for accuracy and effect
