My aim is to help students engage with learning so that they can reach their aims and fulfil their greatest potential, whilst building an attitude dedicated to life-long learning.

With two Master degrees, from the University of Aberdeen and the University of Manchester, in English and related Humanities topics. I am passionate about the English language and literature and would love to help students improve their work. I tutor all ages and abilities, focusing on adapting the lessons for each student enabling them to not only achieve their goals but enjoy it.

I am passionate about my subject and more than able to help students looking at improving in terms of understanding texts, exam technique, written expression and style, technical accuracy and writing form, as well as literacy and reading skills for the younger ages.

I have experience tutoring undergraduate students during my time at university, as well as experience tutoring those preparing for exams. On top of that I have worked in a school setting and understand the requirements that the curriculum has. I will be undertaking a PGCE in primary teaching this coming September.

I am well aware of the stress and anxiety exam preparation brings, I aim to prevent students from feeling overwhelmed and work with a positive “can do” attitude. This will help contribute to an attitude dedicated to life-long learning in a sustainable and fun manner. I use the same approach when helping with coursework and essay writing.

Experience: I have alot of experience tutoring at the university level for undergraduate students. I have also tutored those working towards their school exams, helping them reach their goals. I have worked in a primary school setting and I am familiar with the curriculum, both for the younger ages and for those working towards SATS.
