Ruth

I am an Oxford University honours degree qualified teacher with over 20+ years of primary school teaching and private tutoring - preparing pupils for 11+ exams and SATs. I have a wealth of experience of teaching primary pupils of all ages with a wide range of learning needs.

I specialise in preparing pupils for 7+, 10+, 11+ (with success in gaining places for pupils to top-ranking independent and grammar schools such as Merchant Taylors, City Of London, Medway, Nonsuch, Wallington High School, Roedean School, St.Columba`s College, Truro School, Truro High School).

I also provide general tuition in English and Mathematics and preparation for KS2 SATs and I have thorough subject knowledge in the teaching and progression of phonics for reading and writing.

With private tuition and one to one teaching and learning, I believe it is paramount that the tutor is patient, understanding and kind and builds up a positive working relationship with the pupil in order to help them to succeed.

Availability: I am available for private tuition in English and Mathematics for pupils of any primary school age.
I also now have availability on Wednesday day-times for international pupils in other time zones.

Please do not hesitate to get in contact if you require further information. I am very prompt in my responses and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: Recent teaching in Year 6 means that I am up to date with current curriculum requirements for reading, writing, grammar and mathematics and how to help pupils achieve expected standard/greater depth in these core subjects.
