Information about Ruth
I am an Oxford University honours degree qualified teacher and tutor, with 20+ years of primary school teaching and private tutoring, including preparing pupils for 11+ exams. I have a wealth of experience of teaching primary pupils of all ages with a wide range of learning needs.
I specialise in preparing pupils in Y2 and Y6 for English and Mathematics SATs, as well as providing general tuition in English and Mathematics. I also have thorough subject knowledge in the teaching of phonics for reading and writing.
With private tuition and one to one teaching and learning, I believe it is paramount that the tutor is patient, understanding and kind and builds up a positive working relationship with the pupil in order to help them to succeed.
I am now offering summer holiday booster sessions for pupils preparing for 11+.

We have been absolutely delighted with the tuition Ruth has provided for our sons in preparation for their Year 6 SATs. Ruth`s teaching has made a real difference. Ruth is not only knowledgeable and professional, but also warm, patient, and engaging – qualities that have really helped build our children`s confidence and understanding in both subjects. The progress we`ve seen has been excellent, and our boys genuinely enjoy their sessions with her. She explains things clearly, tailors the work to their individual needs, and keeps them motivated throughout.
