Information about Rachel

Hi there! I am originally from Galway, Ireland and I moved to London in 2014. I have been teaching Maths in an Ofsted rated Outstanding secondary school in South West London since 2014 and I absolutely love teaching! I have experience teaching across all three key stages. With KS3 & KS4, I`ve taught many students ranging in ability. With KS5, I`ve taught Pure maths to Years 12 and 13.

I am available for online tutoring only.

I am extremely patient and enthusiastic about Maths, so if you want to be challenged and prepare for next years exams I am here to help.

Before the tutoring begins, I provide a free phone consultation to discuss what we would like to achieve during the Maths sessions, thus ensuring the sessions are tailor made to suit the needs of every student.

My approach to teaching is a belief that every student can achieve their full potential in Maths and my main focus is building confidence and resilience with students that have difficulty in Maths. I also work with students who need to be challenged further and are aiming for Grade 8/9 at GCSE, or A/A* at A-Level. I am extremely patient, kind, good humoured and tend to build excellent rapport with students in a short period of time.
With exam year groups, my slogan is that "every mark matters" when it comes to exams. When teaching students at GCSE & A-Level, the examples I work through will be model answers to exam questions, highlighting each important step of working in order to gain marks. I believe that having exemplar model answers and notes are an excellent revision tool to have in the run up to the exams so I will encourage students to have a "Model Answer Notebook" for our sessions.
