Information about Imtiaz
I am the head of English at a secondary school in London. I am responsible for the literacy strategies and interventions for the entire school, often working in conjunction with other subject leads.
I am also an examiner for GCSE English Language, working with a major exam board.
I have acute curriculum knowledge and apply a fool-proof method to understanding the exam criteria for my subject. I deliver workshops on assessment objective based attainment for small groups to large seminar sized classes.
Many of my students have gone on to achieve a high degree of success in academic attainment. One of my students gained a scholarship to the Westminster School to enter the Cambridge Pre-U advanced course.
Alongside KS4, I prepare students for 11+ entry tests in the boroughs with a larger concentration of selective schools.
I am well resourced and I have created my own study guides and revision material with a literacy strategy manual ready for UK wide publishing in the next few months.
I have an up to date DBS, first aid training and child protection and safeguarding certification.
I am a motivated teacher and passionate about literacy and its positive impact on young people`s future chances.
