Information about Anuradha

I am a PhD student in the Condensed Matter Physics Department at the University of Oxford. I really enjoy teaching and adopt a systematic means of doing so. I firstly cover each topic in the syllabus that you/ your child may be having trouble with. Subsequently we move onto solving a number of problems so that the student`s knowledge is tested immediately. Once the entire subject is covered, a focus on exam papers will be made - looking to see any patterns in the exam papers, learning exam techniques, making sure to read the question correctly and giving the answers the examiners are looking for.

I teach by tying the material to the fundamentals of the subject and by developing the skills necessary for each of the subjects. Through the sessions I also hope to convey what makes these areas of knowledge so beautiful, exciting and relevant, so the student is engaged and enjoys the sessions.

Please feel free to get in touch, I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

Availability: I am available during the weekends. I could also do evenings if need be.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I am currently reading for a PhD in Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Oxford. I graduated with a first class Masters in Natural Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) from University College London. I obtained an average of 82%, 84% and 85% in my first, second and third year respectively, with the highest score amongst those taking my streams in the Natural Sciences degree. I scored 9A* and 2A at GCSE and took the International Baccalaureate for which I scored 40 points (7`s in Chemistry and Physics).

I have also tutored three students so far, one in A-level mathematics, another in A-level Physics and the third in A-level and GCSE Chemistry and Mathematics. I am happy to say all three of them did fantastically in their respective exams, all moving up at least three grades.

My experience also extends beyond the exam paper. I have worked for an astrophysics department, at the London Centre for Nanotechnology and at a research company, Quantemol Ltd.

Please do get in touch, I am happy offer the first lesson for free so that you may see whether my teaching suits you.

Anu started tutoring our daughters (KS3 level) about a month ago. After trying a few various tutors over the years Anu is a breath of fresh air and the Girls are enjoying engaging with Anu in their lessons. She sets work relevant to the level of the student and follows up with homework in the week. I would defiantly recommend Anu if your looking for an engaging, enthusiastic and competent maths tutor..!

Anuradha is already teaching my daughter the Mathematics of GCSE, she is a great tutor and professional in illustrating the methodology and simplifying the concepts of maths to enable students to get rid of any weakness and improve their levels, my daughter is so happy and thankful of what she is getting.

Anu was very thorough, patient, and always on time to lessons. My daughter went up a grade just after five weeks of tutoring. I would have no hesitation in recommending Anu.
