Information about Tristram
My area of research is in the geometry of algebraic curves, nonstandard analysis, probability and applications to physics. This has allowed me to develop a highly intuitive approach to teaching in these areas. I have written a book on nonstandard analysis which you can download for free on my website [contact detail removed]
Availability: Days, Evenings and Weekends.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I am a PhD qualified mathematician from M.I.T, 1998-2002, with knowledge of physics at the graduate level. I have about three years experience of tutoring mathematics and physics in the Gloucestershire area and extensive experience of teaching undergraduates. I was a research fellow at Exeter University in 2014. I hold distinctions in an MSc Logic and the Foundations of Computation, Manchester, 1993, Part 3 of the Mathematical Tripos, Cambridge, 1997, and an MSc Mathematics for Finance, Exeter, 2013. I have some experience of teaching online via Skype and Stoodle.

Dr. Tristram is very qualified to teach several mathematics modules. Students doing their Sixth Form exams or preparing for an undergrad degree can benefit greatly with his help and be given the opportunity to improve upon their grades. G Lai

My son needed help with logic questions before an interview and we chose Dr. Tristram as he has a MSc in it. We found him punctual, helpful and hardworking as they worked through the questions together and the 3 sessions were very useful.

A very enthusiastic teacher with a passion for maths and physics, and an all around nice guy! Definitely knows his stuff, and a lot of stuff I`ve never even considered - he`s always willing to share interesting asides and tidbits that give a broader understanding and better intuition of the subject.
