Information about Maryum

I am a first year undergraduate student studying at King`s College London with a desire to help younger students reach their full potential with their examination results or just their general progress within school. As a university student, it was not too long ago that I was sitting my own GCSEs and therefore I know the feeling of improvement after years of struggling or difficulties all too well. From my own experiences, I have learnt that a good, personable teacher can make all the difference in ability and attitude towards a certain subject, and therefore I aspire to help students to not only improve their results but also their confidence and feelings towards academics inside and outside of the classroom.
My teaching style is completely customised to the student I am working with. I start by fully understanding a student`s strengths, weaknesses and attitude by loose testing in the chosen subject and then designing a plan on a week-by-week basis by targeting weaker areas but maintaining progress in their strengths, as I believe this adds to the confidence of a student which is vital to any progress made. I ensure that my session plans are completely flexible, so the student can approach me with particular problems or issues they had in class, or homework they may need help with, without feeling that we must stick strictly to a plan. I believe I can create a personable relationship with the student and therefore I aim to create a friendly yet productive working environment so that the student can truly thrive and reach their full potential.

Experience: I have two years of experience tutoring both KS3 and GCSE students, and in all cases have received brilliant feedback and witnessed improvements in ability. I aim to create both a friendly and productive environment for students to work in, so they feel comfortable with me as I believe that is the key to a good teacher-student relationship.
