Information about Josh

I am an experienced KS2 Primary teacher with a proven ‘outstanding’ impact on children’s progress. I have recently moved to Manchester and aim to build up a small portfolio of students fairly soon.

Availability: Any evenings throughout the week.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have been a teacher and private tutor for the past seven years and am very experienced with supporting students within Year 6 and KS2. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated an ‘outstanding’ impact on the progress of the pupils within my care and have a very sound knowledge of the new curriculum. I am very supportive, empathetic and approachable within each session to not only the pupils but with the parents as well. I have a great deal of knowledge and experience that I like to share with parents to help their children reach their potential.

I have seen first hand the impact the new curriculum had on the current generation of learners and the difficulties some children can have in accessing some parts of it. Often, this has a long lasting effect on children’s confidence levels with some of the subjects.

My vision is to build children’s confidence levels with all parts of the curriculum as well as supporting them with making accelerated progress to achieve their full potential. I have very high expectations of learners and I believe this has been a great factor in my students achieving highly.

My sessions start with an initial assessment to see where the learners are at and addressing misconceptions/gaps in learning in the next few sessions. Within a couple of weeks, I have always found a great deal of progress has been made and the learners can be stretched even further.
