I am a keen reader and have a passion for the theatre and cinema. I am a social person and enjoy the interaction and connection with other people.I believe tutoring enables laser-sharp and needs-specific teaching that tailors the learning to each individual student; it helps to empower the student to grasp and apply all concepts of a subject. It is also important to have a tutor with good interpersonal skills,as this creates a sense of mutual respect, instills confidence in the student and underpins the learning.

Experience: I am a very experienced teacher of French and German having taught GCSE and KS3 for over 28 years. I have a thorough understanding of the requirements to achieve a high grade in both languages at GCSE and I am also a qualified examiner for GCSE / iGCSE French and German Speaking Exams. I have a 2:1 joint honours degree in French and German and I have successfully tutored students in both subjects up to GCSE level. I have also worked as Head of Modern Foreign Languages and as a Deputy Head Teacher in charge of exam results. I always teach exam techniques in teaching languages so that students are familiar with the style of the exam and set vocabulary and grammar exercises as homework to help students reinforce what we have covered in each session.
