I am the Head of a Psychology Department for an inner London school who achieves outstanding results year on year for all target grades. I also run a network for other Heads of Psychology in the borough. This is my 11th year as a qualified teacher running a psychology department. I teach from the new AQA specification (linear 2 year course) but I have also taught from the WJEC specification and the old AQA (A) specification. I have also been an AQA A-Level Psychology examiner for the last 10 years. For year 12/13 topics I have covered social influence, memory, attachment, psychopathology, the approaches (humanistic, biological, learning, cognitive and psychodynamic), biopsychology, research methods, issues and debates, forensic, relationships and schizophrenia. I cover research methods in Psychology at both year 12 and 13 level in-depth and can offer advice on exam technique, essay writing and revision strategies. I have taken myself on various training days with both the AQA and WJEC exam boards to stay up to date with what is required from a good student essay and exam response.

Availability: Online lessons in the evenings on weekdays, or in the afternoon on weekends.

Completion of Psychology A & AS Levels, and a degree in Psychology
Various training courses on how to teach the subject effectively
5 years as the leader of a network of around 10 local Heads of Psychology where we discuss effective strategies
3 years as Assistant Head of Year 12
