Information about Nanouska

After studying A Levels I travelled for five years in Israel, India, Nepal, Thailand and Australia. On my return to England, I moved to Brighton and studied a degree in Applied Social Science at Brighton University. During the three years I studied for my degree I worked as a Psychiatric nursing assistant. On achieving a First Class Honours I began a PGCE in Religious Studies, attaining QTS status and gaining a teaching position at Varndean School in Brighton in 2004. In 2009 took the position of Head of Psychology and Sociology at Uckfield Community College and held this position for six years.

Availability: I am currently only teaching online so have flexibility to suit your availability.

I am happy to work on the weekend but this would need to be discussed as my plans change from weekend to weekend.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have been teaching for twenty years. For the last ten I have primarily taught AQA Psychology and Sociology A Level. I am also an AQA Psychology examiner.

I am particularly good at teaching students to deconstruct exam questions and write essay questions to the highest standard in times conditions.

I am an examiner for Paper Two and have extensive understanding of research methods.

I had a fantastic experience with Nanouska as my tutor. Nanouska is an exceptional psychology tutor with great knowledge of the subject. Her ability to know where I needed help (in my case exam technique) made a huge impact on my exams. She was always timely (never late) and never cancelled (reliable!) which I really appreciate. I loved learning with Nanouska and feel I have progressed a lot since having her as a tutor as well as my confidence increasing! I would highly recommend Nanouska to anyone seeking a dedicated, supportive and effective tutor.

Nanouska`s online teaching style is engaging; she has a comprehensive understanding of the AQA Sociology specification and offers excellent advice on exam skills, particularly the structure of essay questions. Nanouska has shared some invaluable resources with my daughter and can communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively. Since having Nanouska as a tutor, my daughter`s grades have steadily improved, and her confidence in the subject has grown. Nanouska is an outstanding and patient tutor. Nanouska kindly organised several sessions last minute to help my daughter with her A-Level Sociology and Psychology. She has given her confidence and motivation. She has been quick to respond to messages and requests. It has been extremely helpful, to have the same tutor cover both subjects I couldn`t recommend her more highly.
