Hello, my name is Amy and I am a fully qualified PGCE (biology) teacher, who has taught GCSE combined and triple science, GCSE psychology, and A-Level biology and psychology. I also have experience as an examiner for Edexcel. I am available to tutor students completing:

- KS3 Collins Science
- GCSE Edexcel Science (and single biology)
- GCSE AQA Science (and single biology)
- GCSE OCR 21st Century Science (and single biology)
- GCSE Edexcel psychology
- A-Level AQA biology and psychology.

I have been tutoring students since 2016, and aim to help students of all abilities achieve their full potential through tailored one-to-one sessions. When tutoring a student, I like to spend our first session discussing your current strengths, as well as the areas you feel you want to improve in before devising an action plan. If possible, I would also like to see any recent assessments that you have completed. In subsequent sessions we will focus on systematically reviewing any content that you identify as struggling with and then check your understanding of this content through application to exam questions, looking through the mark scheme together. I believe it is important to balance sessions with a mixture of content and exam technique to ensure that alongside understanding the knowledge you can actually apply it to the context you will be assessed in, understanding what an examiner is looking for.

In my tutoring sessions I like to use a variety of activities and tasks to help support learning, including: quick knowledge quizzes, whiteboard recall tasks, animations/videos to help visualise processes, real life examples to put concepts in context and past paper exam questions.

Experience: I have a BSc in Biomedical Science and MSc in Medical and Biomedical Science by research from the University of Lincoln. I achieved my PGCE (biology) from the University of Oxford and have been tutoring students of a wide of abilities in science and psychology since 2016.
