Information about Kathleen

I am a qualified teacher with 20 years experience of teaching. I have a BA Degree, an MA, an MEd, a PGCE and a TEFLA Certificate. I love teaching, particularly 1-1 teaching and I am offering tutoring in maths, English and English as a Foreign/Second Language to primary age students, instrumental music lessons for beginners of piano, flute, classical guitar and recorder and beginner theory of music lessons to primary age students. I am a patient, understanding teacher who has an excellent rapport with my pupils, they find me fun, approachable, helpful and caring. I am offering to teach your child in your own home, so no travelling will be necessary. My fee is £20 per hour or £15 for half an hour. If you have two children who would like a half hour instrumental lesson, then I would charge £20 for both lessons,ie £10 per child. Theory of music will be taught along with the instrumental lessons but I can also offer this separately, if requested. Music theory is taught through games so the children find it fun and learn it quickly. For the maths, English and English as a Foreign Language lessons, one hour would be the minimum as half an hour is too short a time to achieve anything. The first lesson will be reduced by 50%.

Availability: I am available weekdays from 3:00pm until 7:00pm and by arrangement at the weekends.

Experience: I have 20 years experience of teaching music and all other subjects of the curriculum and been a librarian in many different countries as well as in the UK. I have taught 1-1, in small groups, and whole classes. My specialism is primary age children but I have also taught secondary school students and adults. I am presently helping primary school students with maths and English.
