Carmine

Hi! My name is Carmine and I come from Naples, Italy. I hold a PhD in International Studies with a specific focus on Cultural and Postcolonial Studies, and on the thought and works of the Marxist philosopher Antonio Gramsci. In particular, in my research I have applied postcolonial theories to my own research on the Italian Southern Question. Due to my very interdisciplinary academic background, I can tutor students of Sociology, Humanities, and Politics. Humanities enthusiasts and amateurs are welcomed too!
Furthermore, I have a 5+ years’ experience in teaching Italian at any level. This means that I can both give you a hand with grammar, vocabulary, or syntax, and help you improve your fluency and listening skills through advanced conversation practice. Since I was born and raised in Naples, I can also teach Neapolitan dialect and give you some cultural insights – you might want to start planning your holiday soon!

Experience: Academia: I have been teaching cycles of ten lessons per year since 2014 within the course of Cultural and Postcolonial Studies at the University of Naples "L`Orientale".

Private tutoring:
- 5+ years’ experience in tutoring students from 9 to 27 on a one to one basis including home schooling and private tutoring.

- 3 years’ experience in online tutoring, which at first I used to continue teaching to my own students abroad. For online lessons I have been using Skype and other multimedia tools such as YouTube and Google Docs.
