Information about Rory

With nearly ten years’ experience supporting hundreds of GCSE and A-Level pupils – nationally and internationally – Rory is an award-winning educator, leader, and academic with a passion for supporting students from a similar background to his own. Rory is a recent graduate of the University of Oxford. He studied Jurisprudence (Law) – ranking top of his graduating year, the first Black heritage student to do so. He is also the recipient of numerous scholarships, including the prestigious Freshfields Stephen Lawrence Scholarship.

Rory has primarily offered support in Law and Humanities applications to high net-worth individuals and to some of the leading secondary schools in the UK. He regularly advises on Law coursework and examination preparation. He teaches Law to undergraduate students, as well as A-Level Biology, English Literature, French, History and Philosophy and Ethics. Rory assists candidates in all aspects of their university application process. Rory advises on university choices, consults on personal statements, provides admissions test coaching, and offers mock interview preparation.

Alongside his busy teaching practice, Rory is also the Managing Director of The Learners Collective (TLC), an online learning service which connects schools students with diverse, high-performing leaders (Scholars) for academic and personal mentorship. Certified by the DofE, Rory is responsible for over a hundred Scholars, and regularly works with some the UK’s leading schools. With a distinct focus on authenticity, agency, and oracy, the TLC Programme, through question-posing dialogues, offers students a blend of high-quality academic support and personal mentorship, building grades and character. It aims to prepare students to be leaders of tomorrow’s world – today.

Above all, Rory seeks to ensure that his clients leave with the knowledge, means, and confidence to flourish in both their application and their wider academic journey. Rory was a amazing tutor for my daughter with good social skills to encourage her to work harder in her gcse. He was able to help her gain higher grades in maths and science enabling her to succeed. I would recommend.

It`s a bit hard to say as we didn`t get to meet him. He is professional in his approach. But it would be unfair for me to rate Rory as circumstances due to my chaotic diary did not enable a tutorial.
