Information about Virginie
I am a native French speaker with a wealth of teaching experience.I can prepare you for GCSE, A level, IB or help with university assignments. I am also happy to teach general French conversation. As a lecturer and private tutor, I am passionate about teaching and always strive to provide the best learning experience for all my students. I believe that enjoyable learning is the key to being successful. To this effect I am aware of the importance of clearly constructed and suitably challenging lesson plans, clear aims and objectives and the importance of being sensitive and receptive to students desires and needs. I use a variety of teaching methods, and make students needs my priority when planning activities and devising or researching new materials. I have a positive, reassuring and encouraging attitude during lessons and keep track of students progress. I provide constructive feedback. I am familiar with a range of motivations that learners may have and always endeavour to provide for varying learning needs. I constantly evaluate my performance and question my skills as a teacher and as an individual. All my professional and personal life I have attended a range of classes and training for personal and professional development and improvement. From my work experience and training I am aware of what is required to be a successful teacher, e.g. adaptability, flexibility, ability to plan, and be able to use a wide variety of teaching methods.

Experience: 20+ years of experience in Education, as a classroom and private tutor at the French Institute in London (7 years) and lecturer at the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham (11 years). I have worked in the primary and secondary school sectors and in Adult Education. I have taught language courses at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. I have delivered accredited courses: GCSE, A Level, DELF and DALF examination courses. I have also tutored privately on a one to one basis preparing students for GCSE and A level examinations but also coaching to prepare for job and university interviews in French. In addition, I have worked for the University Of Southern Mississippi in France. I taught French language and French History to undergraduate American students. This led to validation of part of their degree: all students succeeded with high marks and rated the experience as very enriching linguistically and culturally.
