I believe that every child should excel in their education. With that in mind I strive with each student to ensure that they achieve their very best.

I have successfully run eleven plus programmes so as to empower students to enter the exams with the confidence that they will succeed and the techniques with which to do so. My methods are born from 20 years teaching experience in a wide and varied context.

I have over 20 years teaching experience in secondary schools, and most recently as an Assistant Headteacher.I was responsible for ensuring the school achieved the highest possible results at GCSE and for the welfare of students in years 10 and 11. In addition to my GCSE responsibilities I was responsible for monitoring the progress of the most able and talented students. I worked closely with them to ensure that they could access the most challenging work. I have also worked closely with students and parents to ensure that they have a growth mindset.

I have taught a variety of subjects including literacy and numeracy and worked as part of a SEN department teaching students to develop their reading skills and inference skills.

I have planned and implemented courses for students to develop their meta-cognition, study skills and study.

I mentored a range of students in the lead up to their exams through devising revision timetables and empowering students to take ownership of their learning.

Availability: Evenings and weekends.
