I am a qualified secondary English teacher, who was graded `outstanding`on the Teach First Programme. I have worked as Second in Department at a local secondary school.
In September 2019, I became a Year 6 primary teacher so I am able to tutor a range of ages. With my previous role as KS3 Curriculum Leader, I understand the transition from Year 6 to secondary well.
Overall, I have 8 years teaching and 12 years tutoring experience.
I am able to tutor for AQA, IGCSE, Eduquas and Edexcel GCSE boards and AQA English Language AS Level.
As I have an English degree, I am more than willing to help with those studying at degree level and for adult learners. I have experience with working with EAL students.
I am young, enthusiastic and approachable and enjoy inspiring students to develop a passion for the subject.
Availability: Day (due to maternity leave) some evenings and weekends (location dependent)

Sarah is fantastic. She has tutored my youngest child in English for the last few months in the run up to her GCSE`s. I have five children and so I have come across many teachers in my time! Sarah is a gem. My daughter`s English teachers at school have been rather dull and uninspiring and I was worried that she was so bored she wouldn`t ever engage with the curriculum. Sarah gave her lots of strategies and skills and more importantly a love of the challenge of exams. My daughter had her first exam yesterday and came out on such a high, - she had really enjoyed the exam! Thank you Sarah xx

I can highly recommend Sarah as an English tutor. She has helped my year 8 daughter a lot, although only a few sessions so far but will definitely ask for her help again in the future. My daughter felt very relaxed in the lessons and looked forward to them. Sarah is a prompt communicator, reliable, friendly and clearly an excellent teacher. She packed a great deal into the hour’s lessons and made what could be an onerous experience, a fun one!
