My name is Bobbie. I have a BA (Hons) degree in Creative Writing and English Literature, as well as a PGCE in Secondary English, and QTS (qualified teacher status). I`m currently studying for an MA in English Literature. I have experience in and outside of schools as a qualified teacher (3 years at my previous school) and a private tutor. I specialise in both Language and Literature due to my dual degree in creative and academic writing. I work with my students to create a plan detailing their strengths and weaknesses, and areas of focus during our study sessions. This can range from solely working on exam material, essays, and creative writing (typically for higher years), to basic SPaG, sentence structure, and comprehension (typically for lower years). I always aim to work with the students so that I am tackling things they need help with the most, and perfecting skills that they already have. I create and adapt my own resources ranging from full detailed PowerPoint lessons to worksheets and scaffolded templates to improve writing abilities, I also have a whole host of revision material that I send to my Year 10 and 11 students. My sessions are typically a mix of teacher talk and note taking, to guided and independent activities. Any work that my students produce I will actively read and mark in the lesson (I have a visualiser so that online students can see this live marking) and then we re-draft to fix any mistakes or tackle any misconceptions.

Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Friday- 9:00-3:00 (if you want during school hours as a homeschool substitute)

Monday: 3:30-4:30/4:00-5:00
Tuesday: 3:30-4:30, [4:00-5:00 but only fortnightly]

I trained to teach at a local Secondary School in Essex from September 2020 to July 2021 when I passed my PGCE. I was then hired by my training school and taught there as a fully qualified teacher for two years from September 2021 to July 2023.

I have experience teaching all Secondary years from years 7-11.

I have been tutoring for one year, since September 2022. As an example of my work, the 3 year 11 students that I tutored the past year went from a failing grade to grade 6`s in English Literature and Language.
