I am a 32 year old female who has worked in education for the past 10 years. I graduated in 2007 with a degree in English literature and I also achieved teacher status in 2011.
I have experience of working with a variety of age groups, ranging from pre teen to adult. I enjoy helping people to achieve their full potential whether it is to prepare for an important exam or to improve their skills and confidence in the subject.

Availability: Monday - Friday Anytime after 5pm

Experience: I have tutored children, from the age of eight, in English to help them to improve their skills and confidence. I have also taught teenagers at colleges for the last 7 years. As a college teacher I have taught GCSE English and Functional Skills English and I have also tutored GCSE English privately.

As well as teaching children and teenagers I have also worked with adults in a college environment. The aim of lessons was to help less confident adults improve their English and also prepare them for their GCSE English examinations.

My approach to tutoring varies depending on the age of the student and their needs. With younger students I like to incorporate games and activities to keep them focused. When working with teenagers and adults I apply a variety of activities such as research and discussion. However, I am flexible in my approach to teaching and I am willing to differ my approach according to the needs of each student.

I have worked with dyslexic students and also students with Irlens so I have a full understanding of how to tailor my learning materials to help students who have these difficulties.

I am also happy to assist students with their homework, controlled assessments for GCSE and any other assignments they might have.
