A professional, highly motivated, DBS verified and a dedicated QTS qualified teacher who has been teaching Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science across all key stages (KS3-KS5) for the last fifteen years in different UK secondary schools with an extensive experience of raising achievement, exam preparation, individualised curriculum planning and effective interventions to promote the education and well-being of young people.
I am able to plan and deliver well-structured lessons which engage and motivate students. I have a strong knowledge and understanding of learning theories and pedagogies and their use to enhance the experience of all learners. I have received an ‘outstanding’ grade in a recent lesson observation by Ofsted, which is a testimony of my effective teaching skills. I am familiar with different exam boards, including Edexcel, AQA and OCR and worked as an online assessor for GCSE and A-Level papers.
My main strength is curriculum management as I have successfully designed and implemented different KS4 qualifications e.g. GCSE Linear Mathematics (1MA1 & 1MA0), GCSE Statistics, Free Standing Mathematics Qualifications FSMQs, Adult Literacy and Numeracy ALAN and Maths Functional Skills. I am also familiar with the new GCSE Mathematics (9-1) qualification which allows students to master key skills in mathematics and promote problem solving.
I am very confident in the effective use of data to assess pupils’ progress, fill the gaps in the knowledge and recognise trends. I also use online diagnostic services to create an elaborate detail of pupils’ strengths and weaknesses for each exam and use these reports to design intervention revision plans for underachieving students.
I can teach all A-level and Further Mathematics modules (core and applied). I can also teach Physics up to A Level and I am familiar with the new Science curriculum. I have got a sound knowledge of QTS numeracy exams. I have also prepared students for STEP papers and most of my students have got places in top universities. Three years ago, one of a very successful student in my class went to Cambridge University after getting an A in both A2 core maths exams.
I am a very hard working individual and have high expectations of myself and those around me. I have got a wide range of learning resources including access to all the past exam papers to prepare my students to be confident and achieve their maximum potential.
