I have recently achieved a First class Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, graduating in July 2018.
I chose Chemical Engineering because of my ability to problem-solve in a timely manner as well as my academic strength in Science and Mathematics. I am committed to projects that fulfill an environmental and sustainable remit, fueled by my fondness for the countryside and interest in my Geography lessons while at school. I attended the Royal Latin Grammar School in Buckingham, studying Maths, Chemistry, Geography and History at A-level.
I have also completed two industrial placements firstly, as a Research Assistant at Technical Fiber Products, a company based in the Lake District, who deal with nanotechnologies. This past year I undertook a placement year (alongside my third year of studying) as a Sustainability Technician for PepsiCo in Leicester.
Availability: I have a flexible availability depending on my requirements for other engagements week by week. I am able to tutor most hours of the day, during the week as well as on weekends.
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: I currently tutor twelve students across GCSE and A-level in the Sciences, Maths and Geography with the lessons focussed on facilitating their learnings in class. During my second year at Manchester, I became a PASS (Peer Assisted Study Session) leader. As part of the initiative, I was jointly responsible, with two other leaders, for a group of 10 first year students. These sessions, designed by the leaders, are to help facilitate the students learning outcomes from both their lectures and tutorial sessions. I was required to prepare material for these sessions, which could be used to build and extend the topics covered during lessons, to assist with troublesome tutorial problems, as well as help to prepare the students for their exams. As these sessions were non-compulsory, it was pivotal that the sessions were advantageous, engaging and enjoyable.Contact this Tutor
I, also, have gained further experience by tutoring a student studying GCSE in Mathematics. These sessions were one to one, once a week for two months before her final exams. She was predicted a Grade C but with my tutelage, she successfully achieved a Grade B.
