I am an experienced former Head of Science and Chemistry now work in IT. I enjoy doing one or two hours tutoring a week. I have a proven track record of improving pupils grades by building a solid foundation of knowledge, skills and examination technique. In addition, where necessary, I teach pupils the Psychology and mental stratagies needed in order to suceed. I have a flexible approach depending upon the students needs and an excellent knowledge in all areas of Science. As a Head of Science I taught all 3 Sciences (Biology, Chemistry & Physics) at GCSE and Biology to A`level.
I believe in not just teaching the subject, but I also focus on helping pupils become independent learners able to optimise their examination technique and adopt the correct mental approach in order to perform at the highest level.
I provide private tuition now soley for GCSE Chemistry.
I am an enthusiastic and patient tutor, with a long established record of success with pupils of all ability levels.
Qualifications: B.Sc. in Chemistry with Life Sciences.
PGCE Science, with Qualified Teacher Status.
Availability: Weekday evenings: (4:00pm - 6:00pm) and weekends by arrangement

For the avoidance of doubt I am a science teacher of 25 years experience and have worked as Head of Science, Learning Leader / Teacher Trainer and school improvement advocate roles in public and private sector schools across the range of impoverished and privileged parts of England and Wales. I found your request bizarre in that you asked me to cover a 5 year chemistry curriculum in a 2 hour lesson. Further I found your request to look after your dog whilst teaching your daughter, absolutely ludicrous. I think Tutor hunt should be aware you attempted to `employ` me outwith their service/arrangement to save you their fee. I reported the latter matter to Tutorhunt.

Although Jonathan has only been tutoring my son for a short period of time we find Johnathan`s communication and approach has been professional at all times. He has been reliable and accommodating with short term change of sessions times and the feedback from my son has been positive regarding how Jonathan structures each session and the outcomes look to be positive. The rating looks to be heading to 5 starts but a little early to comment, we would highly recommend Jonathan`s services.
