I am an experienced former Head of Science and Chemistry now fully retired. I enjoy doing some tutoring during the week and I am quite flexible around days and times. I have a proven track record of improving pupils grades by building a solid foundation of knowledge, skills and examination technique. In addition, where necessary, I teach pupils the Psychology and mental stratagies needed in order to suceed. I have a flexible approach depending upon the students needs and an excellent knowledge in all areas of Science. As a Head of Science I taught all 3 Sciences (Biology, Chemistry & Physics) at GCSE and Biology to A level.
I believe in not just teaching the subject, but I also focus on helping pupils become independent learners able to optimise their examination technique and adopt the correct mental approach in order to perform at the highest level.
I provide private tuition now soley for GCSE Chemistry.
I am an enthusiastic and patient tutor, with a long established record of success with pupils of all ability levels.
Qualifications: B.Sc. in Chemistry with Life Sciences.
PGCE Science, with Qualified Teacher Status.
Availability: Weekdays and weekends.

Although Jonathan has only been tutoring my son for a short period of time we find Johnathan`s communication and approach has been professional at all times. He has been reliable and accommodating with short term change of sessions times and the feedback from my son has been positive regarding how Jonathan structures each session and the outcomes look to be positive. The rating looks to be heading to 5 starts but a little early to comment, we would highly recommend Jonathan`s services.

I have engaged Jonathan to assist my daughter with preparation for her IGCSE Chemistry exam. I found Jonathan to be very personable and flexible when arranging sessions. Feedback from my daughter is that she feels she benefits hugely from the tutoring. He lifts her confidence and is very clear on subject matter she previously found difficult. She now feels confident of achieving top marks in her final exams, he also helps her with physics.
I would totally recommend Jonathan to anyone who requires tutoring in any of the science subjects.
